Ivan is a silverback gorilla who has spent twenty-seven years behind glass at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade. He watches TV, paints pictures the owner sells in the gift shop, and doesn’t think much about the jungle anymore.
His friends are Stella, an older elephant, and Bob, a stray dog who likes to sleep on Ivan’s belly. When a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, Ivan makes Stella a promise and has to work out how to keep it. Ivan tells the story himself in short sections, and it is based on a real gorilla who lived in a mall in Tacoma, Washington.

This book leaves from a US warehouse run by the distributor that packs Sleevary orders, so nothing is owed on arrival. An order paid by 5 p.m. Eastern on a weekday that is not a federal holiday counts that day, the warehouse packs it within 1 to 2 business days, and the carrier needs 5 to 7 business days, so the box is at the door 6 to 9 business days after the order counts.
A book subtotal under $29.00 pays $3.90 for shipping, and from $29.00 it ships free. Delivery reaches the lower 48 and Washington, DC at street addresses only, which leaves out Alaska and Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the other territories, post office boxes, and military or diplomatic mail.
The adult who placed the order has until the 30th day after delivery to start a return, a window of 30 days, and nothing is deducted for restocking, so the restocking fee is $0.00. A change of mind means the customer covers the postage back; a book that arrives damaged, misprinted, or as the wrong title, reported within 15 days of delivery, is replaced or refunded in full. The credit goes to the card or PayPal account within 7 business days of the returned book being checked.
The reading age on this page is the publisher's suggestion, and the ISBN-13 in the description identifies the edition sold. The Product Safety page covers the youngest readers, while delivery and returns are set out in full in the Shipping Policy and in the Refund and Returns Policy.
