Four stories about Little Bear and Mother Bear. It is snowing, and Little Bear keeps coming back inside for a hat, then a coat, then snow pants, until Mother Bear asks whether he might just like his own fur coat. Later he cooks birthday soup for his friends, flies to the moon in a homemade space helmet, and asks for a story at bedtime.
Mother Bear is patient through all of it. Little Bear came out in 1957 as the very first I Can Read book, and Maurice Sendak drew the pictures.
Paperback, 64 pages, published by HarperCollins as an I Can Read Level 1 book. Suggested for ages 5 to 7.
