Chase Ambrose falls off a roof, hits his head and wakes up in a hospital with no memory at all. He has to relearn his own name. Back at middle school, some kids treat him like a hero, and some are clearly afraid of him.
Bit by bit he finds out that before the fall he was a football star and a bully, and that his friends were the worst part of school for a lot of people. Now he has to decide whether to be that person again. The chapters switch between Chase and the kids he used to pick on.
