Farmer Brown’s cows find an old typewriter in the barn and type all day long. Their first note is polite: the barn is cold at night and they would like electric blankets. When the farmer says no, the cows go on strike and stop giving milk, and the hens join them.
Duck carries the notes back and forth between the barn and the farmhouse and helps strike a deal. The cows get their blankets, and then the ducks start typing requests of their own. Betsy Lewin’s loose watercolors keep the joke quick and dry.
