The bus driver has to step away for a bit, and he leaves the reader one job: don’t let the pigeon drive the bus. The pigeon shows up right away and tries everything. He asks nicely, he promises to be careful, he offers to pay, and he says his cousin drives one nearly every day.
Kids get to shout no back at him, page after page, which is the whole fun of it. Eventually he throws a tantrum. When the driver comes back, the pigeon wanders off, and on the last page he spots a big truck.
